Many members of our community in the United States—particularly immigrants, refugees, and first-generation professionals—enter the workforce with limited recognition of prior education, outdated skills, or insufficient exposure to rapidly evolving industries. Technological advancement, automation, and increasing professional certification requirements have made it difficult for individuals without updated credentials to remain competitive in the job market.

As a result, many capable adults are underemployed, working in low-wage positions that do not reflect their potential or prior experience. Others struggle to transition into high-demand sectors such as IT, healthcare, and skilled trades due to lack of access to affordable training programs, licensing exam preparation, or career advancement pathways. This stagnation leads to financial instability, limited career growth, and reduced economic mobility for families.

The Skills Upgrade & Career Advancement Training project aims to equip community members with updated technical skills, certifications, and career readiness tools necessary to advance in high-demand industries.
