Many young people within our community in the United States possess creativity, ambition, and innovative ideas but lack structured pathways to transform their concepts into viable businesses. Youth from immigrant and refugee backgrounds often face systemic barriers such as limited access to mentorship, insufficient startup capital, lack of business networks, and minimal exposure to entrepreneurship education. Additionally, economic inequality and limited intergenerational wealth reduce their ability to take entrepreneurial risks.
As a result, many talented young individuals remain disconnected from opportunities in innovation-driven sectors, underemployed, or confined to low-wage jobs. Without guidance and support, business ideas remain undeveloped, and youth confidence in pursuing entrepreneurship declines. This not only affects individual financial independence but also limits community-wide economic growth and representation in emerging industries.
The absence of accessible entrepreneurial ecosystems for marginalized youth contributes to a widening opportunity gap and prevents the community from cultivating future business leaders and innovators.
