Statement on the Bloody Events Between the Otoro and Shawayya Tribes

The Nuba Mountains International Association in the USA is following with great concern and sorrow the bloody events that erupted between the Otoro and Shawayya tribes in the Dabi area, which resulted in the fall of a number of victims from both sides. This is a painful loss that affects the social fabric of all Nuba people.

In view of this unfortunate situation, the Association appeals to all concerned parties to resort to the voice of reason, exercise self-restraint, and work to contain the crisis through dialogue and peaceful means, in order to preserve lives and safeguard community unity.

The Association also affirms that such conflicts only serve those who lie in gap for the Nuba cause, seeking to exploit these events to weaken their cohesion and undermine their legitimate aspirations.

Therefore, the Association calls upon tribal leaders, youth, and all actors to assume their historical responsibilities in extinguishing the fire of discord and promoting the values of peaceful coexistence, in order to preserve unity and social fabric.

Mercy and forgiveness for the victims, and urgent recovery for the injured and wounded. O’God, protect our people in the Nuba Mountains from all evil deeds.

رابطة جبال النوبة العالمية – الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية

بيان بشأن الأحداث الدامية بين قبيلتي الأُطورو والشواية

تتابع رابطة جبال النوبة العالمية بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ببالغ القلق والأسى الأحداث الدامية التي اندلعت بين قبيلتي الأُطورو والشواية في منطقة دبي، والتي أسفرت عن سقوط عدد من الضحايا من الطرفين، وهو فقدٌ مؤلم يمسّ النسيج الاجتماعي لأبناء النوبة جميعًا.

وإزاء هذا الوضع المؤسف، تناشد الرابطة جميع الأطراف المعنية بضرورة الاحتكام إلى صوت العقل، وضبط النفس، والعمل على احتواء الأزمة عبر الحوار والوسائل السلمية، بما يحفظ الأرواح ويصون وحدة المجتمع.

كما تؤكد الرابطة أن مثل هذه النزاعات لا تخدم إلا الجهات المتربصة بقضية النوبة، والتي تسعى لاستغلال هذه الأحداث لإضعاف تماسكهم والنيل من تطلعاتهم المشروعة.

وعليه، تدعو الرابطة القيادات الأهلية والشباب وكل الفاعلين إلى الاضطلاع بمسؤولياتهم التاريخية في إطفاء نار الفتنة، وتعزيز قيم التعايش السلمي، حفاظًا على وحدة الصف والنسيج الاجتماعي.
